Sensei no Kaban

Sensei no Kaban, known in English as The Briefcase or Strange Weather in Tokyo, was originally published in 2001 by Kawakami Hiromi. The novel emerged during a period of shifting Japanese literature, where authors began to focus more intently on the quiet, often melancholic nuances of urban isolation and the unusual ways human connections form in a modern, sometimes alienating society.
