Where it came from
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou, known in English as Girls' Last Tour, was originally serialized by the artist Tsukumizu in Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch magazine from 2013 to 2018. The narrative follows two young survivors, Chito and Yuuri, as they navigate the desolate, industrial ruins of a post-apocalyptic world. Tsukumizu's minimalist art style, defined by clean lines and an emphasis on the vastness of the environment against the smallness of the protagonists, became a signature element of the work's melancholic yet philosophical tone.
The 'Fan Colored' versions of this series emerge from the dedicated community surrounding the manga. While Tsukumizu's original work was strictly monochrome, these unofficial colorizations are produced by enthusiasts aiming to interpret the artist's stark, gray-toned landscapes through a vibrant or atmospheric palette. These editions are not endorsed by the publisher but represent a significant intersection of fandom engagement and digital artistry, reflecting a desire to re-examine the series' somber beauty through the lens of color theory and illustrative interpretation.
