Space Ship EE

Space Ship EE is a creative project by Japanese artist Aya Takano, a prominent member of the Kaikai Kiki collective founded by Takashi Murakami. The work reflects Takano’s characteristic style, which blends elements of manga, science fiction, and surrealism to explore themes of adolescence, sexuality, and futuristic wonder. It was produced within the context of the Superflat movement, a contemporary artistic approach that deliberately dissolves the boundaries between traditional high art and commercial pop culture, utilizing the flat aesthetics of animation and graphic arts.
