Stateless ~Those Without Existence~

Stateless ~Those Without Existence~, created by the artist known as Mashimarou, emerged from the independent dōjinshi scene in Japan. It functions as a psychological narrative work that explores themes of displacement and identity, reflecting the broader trend of experimental, high-concept storytelling within the independent manga community. The aesthetic relies on stark, minimalist linework to emphasize the isolation of the protagonists, moving away from traditional shōnen or shōjo tropes to focus on atmospheric melancholy.

The work is primarily categorized as an indie production, designed to challenge the reader's perception of conventional character design and world-building. Upon its release, it gained a niche following among collectors of underground graphic narratives who valued its unconventional pacing and thematic depth. It is widely regarded as a representative example of how independent creators utilize the medium to address existential questions, though it remains a specialty item rather than a mainstream commercial publication.
