Suomalaisen kirjallisuuden seuran viisikymmenvuotinen juhla, Kesäkuun 30-Heinäkuu 2 pp. 1881

This volume serves as an official commemorative publication documenting the fiftieth anniversary celebrations of the Finnish Literature Society (Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seura), which took place in Helsinki between June 30 and July 2, 1881. The society, founded in 1831, played a central role in the development of Finnish national identity and the elevation of the Finnish language into a literary medium. This publication was issued to preserve the records of the jubilee proceedings, including speeches, programs, and the historical context of the society's first half-century of cultural advocacy.

The document acts as a primary historical record, reflecting the late 19th-century efforts to consolidate Finnish academic and cultural heritage. Published directly by the society in Helsinki, the volume provides insight into the intellectual climate of the Grand Duchy of Finland during a period of significant national awakening. It remains a key source for scholars studying the institutional history of the society and the formalization of Finnish nationalist historiography during the late nineteenth century.
