Susume! Kitakou Housoubu PURE

Susume! Kitakou Housoubu PURE is a manga series created by Himaruya Hidekazu, the artist best known for the internationally recognized series Hetalia: Axis Powers. The work serves as a reimagining or continuation of his earlier webcomic projects involving the eccentric characters of a high school broadcasting club. Released within the mid-2000s landscape of Japanese web-to-print manga, the title reflects the author's signature blend of rapid-fire humor, character-driven vignettes, and a penchant for surreal, self-aware storytelling.

The design and narrative approach of PURE showcase Himaruya's early development of the stylistic aesthetic that would later define his global success. The work focuses on the lighthearted, often chaotic day-to-day operations of the broadcasting club, prioritizing comedic timing and character quirks over traditional long-form plot structures. At the time of its release, the volume was received as a niche curiosity by followers of the author's web work, marking an important transitional piece in his bibliography before his transition to mainstream commercial serialization.
