The Ancestry and Descendants of Robert Bruce and Catherine Cearley: Including the Bruce, Cearley, Barnes, Lowdermilk and Voncannon Families

This volume was compiled by Lawrence L. Little and released as a genealogical record documenting the lineage of Robert Bruce and Catherine Cearley. Published as part of a private or limited-run distribution, the work reflects the mid-to-late 20th-century surge in American amateur genealogy, where researchers sought to formally chronicle pioneer families and their connections to broader regional ancestral lines, specifically focusing on the Bruce, Cearley, Barnes, Lowdermilk, and Voncannon surnames.

The book serves as a biographical and historical registry, adhering to the traditional formatting of family history compilations common in library archives like the Wisconsin Historical Society. Little intended for the text to function as a primary reference for descendants, organizing complex genealogical data into a structured narrative that preserves the migration and marriage patterns of these specific North Carolina and Southern-linked families for future generations.
