The Complete Works of Percy Bysshe Shelley: Letters, 1818 to 1822, ed. by Roger Ingpen

This volume is part of the definitive ten-volume Julian Edition of the complete works of Percy Bysshe Shelley, edited by Roger Ingpen and Walter E. Peck. Published between 1926 and 1930 by Benn in London and Scribner's in New York, the set aimed to provide the most exhaustive collection of Shelley's poetry, prose, and correspondence ever assembled, meticulously collating manuscripts and previous editions to establish a standard scholarly text.

Roger Ingpen, a dedicated Shelley scholar and bibliographer, took the lead in organizing the correspondence. His approach was characterized by a desire to preserve the immediacy of Shelley's personal thoughts while providing the critical scaffolding necessary for academic study. The edition was well received by the literary community for its rigorous editorial standards and remains a foundational resource for scholars researching the Romantic movement and the intimate life of the poet.
