The Daniel Family: A Genealogy of Robert Daniell and Some of His Descendants

Compiled and published in the late 19th century, this genealogy was the life work of Moses Grant Daniell, a dedicated educator and amateur historian. Intended to document the lineage of Robert Daniell—an early settler who arrived in the American colonies in the 17th century—the volume represents the meticulous, often painstaking genealogical research common among 19th-century New England scholars seeking to preserve family narratives amidst a period of rising interest in ancestry.

The text serves as a primary reference for those tracing the Daniell family branches throughout early American history. As a privately collated work that was later reprinted for archival preservation, it reflects the rigorous record-keeping standards of its era. The author focused on collecting primary source data from public records and family Bibles, aiming to provide a comprehensive, structured account of descendancy that remains a foundational resource for descendants today.
