Where it came from
The Forgotten Fiancée, authored by Ahn Min-Yeong, emerged within the vibrant landscape of contemporary webtoon and light novel adaptations. Created to cater to the burgeoning demand for the romantic fantasy genre, the work explores themes of identity and historical revisionism through a narrative lens common in modern manhwa storytelling.
The series was designed to blend traditional tropes of the historical romance subgenre with a distinctly modern pace, focusing on a protagonist who must navigate complex social expectations after a pivotal, memory-altering event. While the specific artistic influences reflect the industry standard for high-fantasy character design, the series has been noted for its deliberate atmospheric tone, which seeks to differentiate the title from more comedic or lighthearted contemporaries.
