The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Volume 11

The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Volume 11, was published in 1904 by the Virginia Historical Society. This volume serves as a primary scholarly resource, continuing the society's long-standing mission to preserve and disseminate the documentary history of the Commonwealth of Virginia, covering subjects ranging from colonial records and genealogies to significant political correspondence.

The publication was overseen by the editorial staff of the Virginia Historical Society, which maintained a rigorous commitment to archival accuracy and nineteenth-century academic standards. As part of a series established in 1893, Volume 11 reflects the era's focus on institutional historiography, providing researchers with annotated transcripts of manuscripts that might otherwise have been lost to private ownership or environmental decay.
