Where it came from
The Witcher Library Edition Volume 1 was published by Dark Horse Comics in 2018 as a high-quality, oversized hardcover collection. It was created to satisfy growing demand from fans of both Andrzej Sapkowski's original prose and the wildly popular CD Projekt Red video game adaptations, serving as a definitive archive for the franchise's expanded universe stories.
The volume collects the first three major story arcs written by Paul Tobin: 'House of Glass,' 'Fox Children,' and 'Killing Monsters.' These narratives were illustrated by artists including Joe Querio and Piotr Kowalski, who utilized a dark, atmospheric aesthetic to capture the gritty, morally complex world of Geralt of Rivia. The edition was well-received by fans for its premium production values and its successful translation of the series' moody, supernatural tone into the medium of graphic storytelling.
