The Works of Gilbert Parker Volume 10

The Works of Gilbert Parker were originally published in the early 20th century as a comprehensive Imperial Edition, reflecting the popularity of Sir Gilbert Parker, a Canadian-British novelist and politician. During his lifetime, Parker was widely celebrated for his romantic adventure stories set in the Canadian North, and this multi-volume collection was intended to cement his literary legacy during the height of the British Empire's cultural influence.

The physical production of these volumes often featured high-quality cloth or leather bindings, gold-gilt top edges, and decorative endpapers, consistent with the standard of library sets from the era. Designed for the discerning reader's private study, the aesthetic aimed to provide a sense of gravitas and permanence to the author's body of work, which garnered significant critical acclaim before falling into relative obscurity in the late 20th century.
