Toaru Majutsu no Index Gaiden: Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun began serialization in Dengeki Daioh in 2007 as a spin-off to Kazuma Kamachi’s popular light novel series, Toaru Majutsu no Index. Conceived to explore the perspective of the esper Misaka Mikoto, the narrative shifts the focus from the magical elements of the original series to the scientific underpinnings of Academy City. Motoi Fuyukawa was brought on to handle the illustration, establishing a dynamic, action-oriented aesthetic that balances intricate mechanical designs with expressive character work.
