Tsuihousareta Moto Zatsuyou-gakari, Kikakugai no Gijutsu de "Saikou no Shuuzenshi" to Yobareru You ni narimashita - SSS Rank Party ya Ouzoku kara no Irai ga Tomarimasen

This light novel series, titled in English as The Exiled Ex-General Handyman Becomes the 'Greatest Repairman' with Extraordinary Skills, originated as a web novel published on the Japanese user-generated platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Following its success online, the work was acquired for print publication by the Japanese publisher Kodansha, which began releasing the volumes under its K Ranobe Bunko imprint. The series fits firmly within the popular fantasy 'exile' trope, where a protagonist is dismissed from their original party only to discover their overlooked or undervalued skills are essential to the world.

The physical light novel volumes feature character designs and illustrations by the artist Azane. The visual aesthetic leans into the modern isekai and high-fantasy style, emphasizing a clean, light-hearted portrayal of the protagonist's technical expertise and his interactions with the various adventurers and royals who seek his repair services. Since its debut, the series has been well-regarded by fans of the light novel medium for its focus on a craft-based protagonist who navigates the complexities of an SSS-rank party hierarchy, ultimately leading to a manga adaptation that further expanded the series' reach in the Japanese market.
