Where it came from
U wa Uchuu Yabai no U! is a conceptual and literary project by Iori Miyazawa, a writer perhaps best known for their work on the Yuri science fiction series Urasekai Picnic. The volume serves as a creative expansion of Miyazawa's exploration of cosmic horror and surrealist themes, presented through a distinctively personal and eccentric lens. It was produced to occupy the space between conventional storytelling and avant-garde commentary, reflecting the author’s interest in the unsettling nature of the unknown.
The design and presentation of this work were intentionally crafted to mirror the disorienting subject matter contained within. Miyazawa aimed to create a reading experience that feels fragmented and atmospheric, echoing the tropes of cosmic dread while subverting them through a specific, rhythmic prose style. Upon its release, the work was received by the Japanese niche market as a bold, experimental endeavor that further solidified Miyazawa's reputation for navigating the unconventional boundaries of genre fiction.
