Uchuusen ga Sounan Shita kedo, Me no Mae ni Chikyuugata Wakusei ga Attakara, Ima Made no Jinsei wo Sutete Easy ni Ikitai

Uchuusen ga Sounan Shita kedo, Me no Mae ni Chikyuugata Wakusei ga Attakara, Ima Made no Jinsei wo Sutete Easy ni Ikitai, often abbreviated as Uchuusen, began as a light novel series authored by Mizuno Airai and illustrated by Katagiri. Published under the GA Bunko imprint, the series emerged during the mid-2010s, a period marked by the immense popularity of the isekai subgenre. The narrative follows a protagonist who, after their spacecraft suffers a catastrophic failure, finds themselves on a habitable, Earth-like planet and chooses to embrace a quiet, simple life rather than attempting to return to their previous existence.

The series is noted for its meditative approach to the isekai trope, focusing on themes of survival and intentional living rather than traditional epic conflict. Katagiri’s character designs lean into the aesthetic conventions of the era's light novel market, emphasizing clean lines and expressive, approachable character models that complement the story's laid-back tone. While it occupies a niche within the broader landscape of Japanese light novels, it has been received by readers as a comforting exploration of the desire to escape modern societal pressures in favor of self-sufficiency.
