Undertale - Twicomi Compilation

The Undertale Twicomi compilation, illustrated by the artist Okumaya, emerged from the vibrant Japanese fan culture surrounding Toby Fox’s 2015 role-playing game. Created as an unofficial anthology, this volume compiles various short-form comics and illustrative tributes that were originally shared on social media platforms. These compilations, often referred to as 'Twicomi' in Japanese fan circles, serve as curated archives of the prolific fan art movement that defined the game's post-release life in East Asia.

Okumaya’s approach to these comics focused on capturing the whimsical and often melancholic character dynamics of the game’s cast. By utilizing the expressive and loose visual language typical of digital fan art, the collection aimed to resonate with players who sought to explore the emotional depth and humorous potential of the Underground. The work was received with significant enthusiasm within the enthusiast community, serving as a physical memento of the internet-based fandom that grew rapidly following the game's international success.
