Where it came from
Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song- originated as an original anime television series produced by Wit Studio, which aired in 2021. The project was conceived by Tappei Nagatsuki, the creator of Re:Zero, and Eiji Umehara, who sought to explore a narrative centered on artificial intelligence and the preservation of human history. The manga adaptation serves as a companion to the anime, condensing the high-stakes journey of Vivy, the first autonomous AI, through a century-long mission to prevent a catastrophic war between humanity and machines.
The character designs were originally drafted by loundraw and adapted for animation by Yuichi Takahashi. The aesthetic leans into a blend of near-future science fiction and melancholic humanism, emphasizing Vivy's evolution from a simple songstress program to a nuanced entity grappling with the complexities of 'heart.' The series received acclaim for its visual quality and its thematic depth regarding the philosophical implications of robotic consciousness.
