Zoids: New Century

Zoids: New Century, also known as Zoids: New Century Zero, serves as the second television anime series in the long-running Zoids franchise. Produced by Xebec and airing in 2001, the series was designed to revitalize interest in the Tomy model kit line by shifting the tone toward a competitive, sport-based arena combat setting. This transition from the war-themed narrative of the original Zoids series allowed the show to focus on character-driven rivalries and high-octane mechanical action that mirrored the assembly-focused nature of the kits.

The manga adaptation, illustrated by Mizobuchi Makoto and serialized in CoroCoro Comic, provided a complementary experience to the animated series.
