Arlong

Arlong, the card designated OP06-023, was released in the Wings of the Captain set for the One Piece Card Game in late 2023. It depicts the formidable fish-man captain, antagonist of the Arlong Park arc, and serves as a green-colored character card designed to integrate with the game's evolving synergy-based mechanics. As part of a set focused on iconic leaders and their crews, this card reflects the strategic design philosophy of Bandai, which often prioritizes character archetypes and thematic abilities that mirror the source material's power dynamics.

The illustration captures Arlong’s menacing presence, consistent with the stylistic direction of the One Piece Card Game which utilizes a mix of original art and established manga aesthetics. The reception of this card has been largely tied to its utility in specific green-based deck builds, where its cost and power output are balanced to support mid-game tactical plays. Collectors of the set value this card for its crisp artwork and its role in maintaining the narrative continuity of the East Blue saga within the broader competitive landscape of the trading card game.
