Bell-mere

Bell-mère was released in 2023 as part of the Pillars of Strength set, the third expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This card depicts a pivotal character from the Arlong Park arc, serving as a nostalgic callback to the emotional foundation of Nami’s backstory. The design features art consistent with the game's intent to highlight the deep narrative history of the series, focusing on characters whose influence shapes the journeys of the main cast.

The card was designed to function within the mechanics of the Blue color identity, reflecting Bell-mère’s protective and sacrificial nature through its gameplay utility. Like many character cards in the early sets of this game, the illustration prioritizes clarity and faithfulness to Eiichiro Oda’s original character designs. It was received by the player base as a sentimental inclusion that rewards thematic deck-building rather than serving as a primary competitive staple.
