Black Bug

The Black Bug card was released as part of the Wings of the Captain expansion for the One Piece Card Game, serving as a tactical event card within the set's strategic framework. It draws direct inspiration from the Enies Lobby arc of the original manga, specifically referencing the titular technique employed by the character Rob Lucci to suppress opponents. The set was designed to introduce deeper mechanics for black-aligned decks, emphasizing removal and board control to reflect the ruthless nature of the CP9 organization.

The visual design of the card features a stark, dramatic illustration of Lucci, intended to convey the oppressive atmosphere of the villain's confrontation with the Straw Hat Pirates. The artwork aligns with the game's broader aesthetic of using high-contrast, action-oriented manga panels to ground gameplay in the narrative tension of the series. Upon release, it was well-received by competitive players for its efficiency as a cost-effective removal tool, quickly becoming a staple in decks utilizing black cards due to its direct utility in mitigating an opponent's field presence.
