Where it came from
The Buffalo character card (OP05-031) was released as part of the Awakening of the New Era set for the One Piece Card Game, specifically featured within the 1st Anniversary Tournament promotional materials. This card was designed to support the game's evolving mechanics, reflecting the unique abilities of the Donquixote Pirates crew member as depicted in the Dressrosa arc of the One Piece series. The artwork maintains the high-fidelity aesthetic consistent with the series' illustration style, aiming to capture the character's eccentric personality and devil fruit transformation capabilities.
The release coincided with the celebration of the game’s first year of international play, serving as a commemorative piece for participants and collectors during this milestone event. While the card functions primarily as a tactical piece within the blue-themed decks of the set, its inclusion in the anniversary tournament series elevated its status among enthusiasts who appreciate the lore-accurate representation of the character's synergy with other Donquixote-related cards.
