Provenance

Where it came from

The 'But Ace Here Said You Deserved It!!' card was released as part of the 'Carrying On His Will' expansion for the One Piece Card Game, specifically designated as OP13-019. This event card draws directly from the climax of the Marineford arc in Eiichiro Oda’s manga, capturing a pivotal emotional beat where Luffy’s actions are influenced by the legacy and final wishes of his late brother, Portgas D. Ace.

The card’s design employs dynamic, character-focused artwork typical of the series, intended to evoke the high-stakes narrative tension of the source material. It functions as a strategic event within the game's mechanics, allowing players to represent the emotional momentum of the story. Like other cards in the OP13 set, it was developed by Bandai to integrate key plot points into gameplay, generally receiving positive feedback from players who value the thematic link between the card’s effects and the original manga illustrations.
