Cavendish

The Cavendish card (OP01-008) originates from the inaugural release of the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2022 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga series. These cards were specifically produced for demo decks distributed at launch events and promotional kiosks, designed to introduce players to the game’s core mechanics. The set sought to balance competitive viability with faithful aesthetic representations of characters from across the franchise’s history.

The design of the Cavendish card reflects the signature style of the game’s early character releases, prioritizing high-contrast artwork and clear iconography. Cavendish, known as the 'Pirate Prince' from the Dressrosa arc, is depicted in his flamboyant, narcissistic style. The design emphasizes his role as a high-speed character, a choice intended to mirror his combat prowess in the source material. Upon release, these demo deck cards were well-received by fans for their accessibility and for providing a streamlined entry point into a complex trading card system.
