Where it came from
The Crocodile Parallel card, cataloged as OP01-067, was released in late 2022 as part of the Romance Dawn expansion, the inaugural set for the One Piece Card Game. The set was designed to commemorate the series' 25th anniversary, introducing players to a strategic trading card game that emphasizes the tactical use of Don cards and leader abilities. As the primary antagonist of the Alabasta Saga, Crocodile was selected for this debut set to anchor the blue color affinity, which focuses on control and deck manipulation.
The card features artwork that departs from the standard card aesthetic, utilizing a unique etched foil treatment and a distinct alternate illustration that highlights Crocodile's refined yet menacing persona as the former leader of Baroque Works. This specific parallel version was created to provide collectors with a more exclusive iteration of the card, and its artistic direction was received with significant interest by enthusiasts, establishing it as a hallmark of the early competitive meta and the set's premium collectibility.
