Where it came from
The World's Strongest Warriors expansion set, which includes the event card OP17-115, was produced as part of the ongoing One Piece Card Game ecosystem. This card specifically draws its thematic weight from the series' central philosophy regarding the pirate code, a recurring motif throughout Eiichiro Oda's original manga. The set was designed to capture high-stakes interactions between characters, emphasizing the tactical depth required for competitive play in a meta environment dominated by powerful combatants.
The card’s design, featuring the titular quote, serves as a narrative anchor for players, framing strategic board actions within the dramatic tension of the One Piece universe. Illustrators for the set leaned into dynamic, manga-accurate visual styles to ensure the card resonated with established fans of the franchise. Upon release, the card was received as a versatile tool for defensive maneuvering, lauded for its ability to reflect the ideological conflict between the series' factions.
