Provenance

Where it came from

The Enel leader card was released in 2023 as part of the fifth expansion of the One Piece Card Game, titled Awakening of the New Era. This set focused heavily on the Skypiea arc, bringing the character of Enel, the self-proclaimed god of the sky, into the competitive meta. The alternate art version features a distinct aesthetic departure from standard base cards, utilizing premium foil textures and specialized illustrations that emphasize the character's lightning-based abilities and imposing silhouette.

The design of this card reflects the signature style of the One Piece Card Game’s alternate art series, which often collaborates with various artists to offer a more stylistic, high-contrast visual experience compared to the standard game art. By highlighting Enel’s erratic and powerful persona, the card was received well by collectors and players alike, quickly becoming a staple for those building yellow-color decks. Its popularity is bolstered by the scarcity of the alternate art pull rate, making it a sought-after piece for fans of the Skypiea narrative arc.
