Five Elders

The Five Elders character card originates from the Carrying On His Will expansion of the One Piece Card Game, which draws its thematic inspiration from the later arcs of the Egghead narrative. Released to capture the mysterious and formidable influence of the World Government's highest authority, the card features the members of the Gorosei in their transformed, monstrous manifestations. This design choice aims to emphasize the shift in tone within the series, moving from political intrigue toward the visceral, supernatural power struggles that define the current era of the story.

The illustration was crafted to mirror the high-stakes aesthetic introduced in the manga, focusing on the imposing silhouettes and intimidating presence of these central antagonists. By depicting them in their empowered states, the designers sought to provide players with a sense of the immense pressure these figures exert on the series' protagonists. Upon its release, the card was received with interest by the competitive community, primarily for its role in representing the endgame power balance within the One Piece metagame.
