Where it came from
The Foxy (SP) leader card, designated OP07-059, was released in the Anime 25th Collection Extra Booster set for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to commemorate the quarter-century anniversary of the One Piece anime, featuring iconic characters and specific story arcs rendered in a distinct, high-quality parallel art style. The SP, or special parallel, designation denotes the card's status as a rare variant, prioritized by collectors for its unique aesthetic treatment compared to the standard leader card.
The design of this card focuses on Foxy, the antagonist of the Long Ring Long Land arc, known for his 'Slow-Slow' fruit powers and penchant for games. The artwork utilizes the dynamic and vibrant visual language typical of the 25th anniversary celebratory series, aiming to capture the character's theatrical personality within the card game's mechanics. The reception among the player base and collectors has been rooted in its collectible rarity and the nostalgic appeal of revisiting legacy characters from the series' history.
