Gear Two

The Gear Two event card was released as part of the 'A Fist of Divine Speed' expansion for the One Piece Card Game, published by Bandai. Debuting in the eleventh main set of the game, it captures a pivotal moment from the Enies Lobby arc of the original manga and anime, where Monkey D. Luffy utilizes his newfound Gear Two transformation to significantly increase his speed and power. The card was designed to reflect the dynamic, high-stakes nature of the series' combat mechanics, translating Luffy’s signature acceleration into an active gameplay benefit for players.

The visual direction for this card follows the game's established style, which leans on high-fidelity, energetic illustrations that pull directly from Eiichiro Oda's original character designs. It was created to appeal both to tactical players needing specific event-based utility and to collectors looking to complete the set. Upon release, it was well-received by the competitive community for its utility in red-themed decks, effectively bridging the gap between thematic storytelling and functional TCG strategy.
