Gedatsu (Alternate Art)

Gedatsu, identified as OP05-102, was released as part of the Awakening of the New Era set in the One Piece Card Game. This set, the fifth expansion overall, was launched to expand the game's tactical depth by integrating characters from diverse arcs of the long-running manga series, specifically highlighting the Skypiea arc where Gedatsu serves as one of the priests under Enel. The card was designed to reflect the character's unique combat style and his role within the God's Army, focusing on his gravity-based abilities and the chaotic, often comedic, nature of his personality within the narrative.

The alternate art version of the card is highly sought after by collectors for its distinctive visual treatment, which contrasts with the standard card layout. The illustration features a stylized, high-contrast aesthetic that emphasizes the character's intimidating appearance while maintaining the series' signature art direction. Upon its release, the card was well-received by competitive players for its utility in gameplay and by fans of the series for its quality of artwork, quickly becoming a notable staple in blue-aligned decks.
