Hody Jones

Hody Jones, card OP06-035, was released as part of the -WINGS OF THE CAPTAIN- [OP06] expansion for the One Piece Card Game in early 2024. The set draws inspiration from the Fish-Man Island arc of the series, focusing on characters associated with key marine factions and aquatic themes. Hody Jones is depicted here as the primary antagonist of the arc, reflecting his aggressive, radical ideology through the game's mechanics, which emphasize speed and board presence.

The card’s design utilizes Eiichiro Oda’s original character art, adapted for the layout of the card game by the production team at Bandai. The aesthetic choices for this series aim to capture the intensity of the character’s personality, often utilizing high-contrast visuals to distinguish between color identities in the game. It was received as a functional staple for green-based decks, appreciated by players for its efficiency and thematic alignment with the Fish-Man archetype.
