Provenance

Where it came from

The Jack character card was released in 2023 as part of the Animal Kingdom Pirates starter deck for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to introduce players to the mechanics associated with the Beast Pirates faction, drawing directly from the Wano Country arc of Eiichiro Oda's manga series. The card features Jack the Drought, a prominent antagonist known for his immense durability and his Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit, which allows him to transform into a mammoth.

The design of the card emphasizes Jack's aggressive playstyle, consistent with the thematic identity of the Animal Kingdom Pirates in the game's meta. Illustrators utilized the established aesthetic of the source material to create a cohesive look that aligns with the rest of the set. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional staple for players building decks focused on the purple color archetype, valued primarily for its specific synergy with the Animal Kingdom synergy cards.
