Karasu

Karasu, appearing as card number OP12-085 in the Legacy of the Master set, emerged as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game's ongoing effort to reprint and distribute legacy support cards through the Tournament Pack series. This card was released within Official Tournament Pack 2019, or OP12, a product curated primarily for competitive event prize support rather than retail sale. The selection of legacy cards for these sets is typically driven by a desire to provide players with accessible, standardized versions of cards that offer utility in casual or themed deck building.

The design of Karasu reflects the distinct aesthetic of early-era card monsters, characterized by a more simplistic, illustrative style that preceded the highly detailed, complex art seen in later expansions. While specific attribution for the original illustration is rarely credited to individual artists in public records, the card embodies the folklore-inspired themes common to the game's initial years. Its reception has remained steady among collectors who value the historical continuity provided by these tournament-specific printings, serving as a nostalgic bridge to the game's formative period.
