Koushirou

The Koushirou card, designated OP06-026, was released as part of the promotional support for the Wings of the Captain expansion in the One Piece Card Game. These pre-release cards were distributed during organized play events, serving as a tactical incentive for players to engage with the competitive scene surrounding the sixth main set of the game. The card features the character Koushirou, the master of the Shimotsuki Village dojo and mentor to Roronoa Zoro, highlighting his role in the series as a pivotal figure in Zoro’s foundational training.

The design of the card leans into the minimalist and disciplined aesthetic associated with Koushirou’s personality. The artwork emphasizes the somber, thoughtful atmosphere of his dojo, utilizing the game’s established visual language to represent his supportive utility in the trading card game format. It was designed to function within specific blue-colored archetypes, focusing on card selection and manipulation, which mirrors Koushirou’s role as a guide who shapes the potential of others. The reception has been largely positive among collectors who value characters with deep narrative history, particularly those connected to the core development of the Straw Hat crew.
