Provenance

Where it came from

The Monkey D. Luffy P-001 card was released as part of the Premium Card Collection during the BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 23-24. This event series was organized to support the growing competitive scene for the One Piece Card Game, serving as a high-profile giveaway or exclusive item to commemorate the tournament circuit. The card features artwork distinct from standard booster sets, emphasizing the prestige of the event itself.

The design utilizes an iconic, dynamic illustration of Luffy, rendered in a style consistent with the high-quality foil treatments synonymous with Bandai’s promotional releases. The card was created to serve as a collectible centerpiece for participants and fans of the franchise, aiming to bridge the gap between functional gameplay pieces and limited-edition memorabilia. It was generally well-received by the TCG community for its aesthetic value and its status as a tangible record of the game’s first major global event cycle.
