Nami

The Nami character card, designated OP03-030, was released in early 2023 as part of the Pillars of Strength expansion set for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to bolster the blue and yellow color archetypes within the game’s strategic framework, drawing inspiration from the Water 7 and Enies Lobby story arcs of the source manga. As a low-cost utility character, the card was integrated to facilitate deck thinning and consistency, reflecting Nami's narrative role as the navigator who keeps the Straw Hat crew on course.

The illustration features Nami in her post-timeskip aesthetic, emphasizing the vibrant, high-contrast visual style established by Eiichiro Oda and maintained by the game's art directors. The design team sought to capture the character's pragmatic yet spirited personality, using the card's frame to emphasize its utility-focused mechanics. Upon its release, the card was widely received by competitive players as a staple for blue-based control decks, praised for its efficiency and thematic alignment with the navigator's ability to scout ahead for the crew.
