Pearl

The Pearl card, cataloged as OP15-011, debuted within the Adventure on Kami's Island expansion. This set was designed to shift the game’s meta toward exploration-based mechanics, featuring art that emphasizes the vibrant, surreal aesthetics of the game's mythological setting. The character was conceptualized by the lead illustration team to represent a pivotal navigational guide, serving as a rare utility card that rewards players for tactical movement across the island map.

Upon its release, the card received favorable attention for its distinct, minimalist art style, which diverged from the more aggressive action-oriented imagery prevalent in earlier sets. Critics and collectors praised the balance of its design, noting that it captured the ethereal tone of the Kami’s Island narrative arc. It remains a hallmark of the series' mid-era aesthetic, favored by players for both its functional rarity and its contribution to the set’s cohesive visual identity.
