Where it came from
The Shanks card (OP01-120) from the One Piece Card Game's Premium Booster -The Best- set is a reprint of the original secret rare artwork from the Romance Dawn set. The card depicts the iconic scene of Shanks ending the Paramount War, a pivotal moment in the manga that solidified his status as a legendary figure in the series. This version was released as part of a commemorative set designed to celebrate the most impactful moments and fan-favorite illustrations throughout the game's initial release years.
The illustration maintains the original artwork's dramatic aesthetic, emphasizing the character's imposing silhouette and commanding presence. Eiichiro Oda’s character design is rendered with a focus on high-contrast shading and vibrant color palettes that define the Premium Booster series. Upon its initial debut, this specific art style was widely praised by the community for its cinematic framing and faithful representation of the source material, leading it to become one of the most recognized collectibles within the trading card game community.
