Where it came from
The Shiki card, designated OP17-047, was released as part of a promotional campaign for The World's Strongest Warriors event. These cards were distributed to celebrate specific cinematic or thematic milestones within the One Piece card game ecosystem, capturing the antagonist Shiki the Golden Lion, a character originally introduced in the 2009 film One Piece Film: Strong World. The card serves as a thematic tribute to the film, reflecting the high-stakes, action-oriented nature of the series' character roster.
The design of the card leans into the aggressive, commanding presence of Shiki, utilizing the established visual language of the One Piece Card Game to emphasize his status as a legendary pirate. The illustration was curated to align with the game's broader aesthetic, focusing on dynamic character portraits that appeal to both dedicated players and series enthusiasts. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors who prioritize film-related tie-ins and those who enjoy incorporating iconic antagonists into their deck compositions.
