Shirahoshi (Alternate Art)

The Shirahoshi (EB01-057) card was released as part of the One Piece Card Game's Extra Booster: Memorial Collection, a set designed to celebrate key characters and moments from the series' history. The card features the Mermaid Princess Shirahoshi, a central figure in the Fish-Man Island arc, and utilizes an alternate art style that distinguishes it from standard set releases. This version is particularly sought after for its thematic focus on the character's gentle aesthetic, aligning with the artistic direction of the Memorial Collection which emphasizes sentimental and narrative-heavy illustrations.

The illustration was crafted to evoke the ethereal and tragic nature of Shirahoshi's role in the overarching One Piece narrative. By employing the alternate art format, the design team aimed to provide collectors with a more expressive, character-driven visual than typically found in high-performance gameplay cards. Upon its release, the card was well-received by both players and collectors, garnering attention for its intricate linework and the way it captures the character's significance to the series' lore.
