Where it came from
Upper Yard was released in 2023 as part of the Awakening of the New Era expansion for the One Piece Card Game. The card depicts the sacred territory of Skypiea, a pivotal setting during the series' Sky Island arc. Within the mechanics of the game, this card serves as a stage card that provides strategic utility by facilitating the searching and retrieval of Skypiea-themed character cards from the deck.
The artwork reflects the distinct aesthetic of the Skypiea arc, emphasizing the golden, ethereal architecture of Enel's domain. As part of the fifth main set, the card was designed to support specific deck archetypes centered around the Enel leader card. It was received by the player base as a fundamental consistency tool for Skypiea-themed decks, prized more for its utility in competitive play than for its rarity or collector's value.
