Woop Slap

The Woop Slap character card, designated OP13-006, is a component of the One Piece Card Game set titled Carrying On His Will. Released as part of the game's ongoing expansion series, the card honors the foundational history of the franchise by featuring the mayor of Foosha Village, a character whose early guidance and unwavering support were instrumental in shaping the protagonist's journey. The design maintains the aesthetic consistency of the card game, utilizing vibrant, high-quality illustrations that capture the character's signature elderly appearance and stern but protective personality, serving as both a functional game piece and a nod to the series' deep narrative roots.

The design team at Bandai Namco developed this card to emphasize character-driven mechanics, grounding it in the lore of the source material. By selecting characters like Woop Slap who represent the emotional backbone of the One Piece world, the illustrators aimed to create a sense of nostalgia for veteran fans while providing strategic utility for players. Upon its release, the set was received as a welcomed addition for collectors who value character variety, with the specific card being recognized for its role in representing the civilian perspective within a world often dominated by high-stakes combat.
