Yama

The Yama card, numbered OP05-113, was released as part of the Awakening of the New Era expansion for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2023. This set is particularly significant as it celebrated the game's first anniversary, introducing high-rarity chase cards and special parallel illustrations that drew heavily from the Skypiea arc of the manga. The set was designed to expand the competitive meta by introducing new color combinations and leader cards, marking a pivotal moment in the game's growth and player acquisition.

The card features Yama, the chief enforcer of Enel’s army in the Skypiea arc, rendered in the distinctive, high-contrast art style consistent with the One Piece Card Game's character series. Like many cards from this era, the illustration prioritizes dynamic action and thematic accuracy to Eiichiro Oda’s source material. Upon release, the card was received as a functional tool for black-deck players, noted for its utility in the game's engine rather than as a primary centerpiece, fitting into the broader strategy of the set's distribution across booster boxes and specialized tournament-related promotional cycles.
