Provenance

Where it came from

Yamakaji, indexed as OP02-116, was released in the Paramount War expansion set for the One Piece Card Game in late 2022. The card represents the Vice Admiral from the Marine headquarters, specifically depicted during the intense conflicts of the Summit War of Marineford. Its design draws directly from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga illustrations, capturing the stoic, cigar-smoking demeanor characteristic of the character as he oversees the tactical efforts against the Whitebeard Pirates.

The card was developed as part of the strategy-focused gameplay ecosystem of the Paramount War set, which emphasized the clash between the Marine forces and the Pirate factions. Like other cards in the series, its aesthetic relies on a clean, dynamic layout that integrates high-quality character art with the game’s core mechanics. It was generally received by players as a functional addition to Marine-themed decks, appreciated for its thematic accuracy and its role in maintaining the narrative immersion of the trading card game.
