Where it came from
The Yamato character card, specifically the alternate art version from the OP04-112 slot, originated from the One Piece Card Game's Premium Booster -The Best- set. This release was designed as a commemorative compilation, celebrating the most impactful and sought-after characters from the game’s first year of competitive play. The card depicts Yamato, a central figure from the Wano Country arc, utilizing the highly expressive, stylized character art that characterizes the game’s special rare and alternate art tiers.
The design of this particular card reflects the premium aesthetic of the game's high-rarity collectibles, emphasizing dynamic line work and high-fidelity printing techniques to distinguish it from the standard card set. It was released as part of a strategic effort by Bandai to provide players and collectors with refined versions of staple game pieces. Upon its introduction, the card was received warmly by the competitive community for its utility in gameplay and by collectors for its aesthetic appeal, solidifying its status as a cornerstone of the Premium Booster set.
