Where it came from
The Yamato character card from the Premium Card Collection -Best Selection Vol. 4- was released as part of the promotional landscape for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga series. This specific card, designated EB01-007, was curated for a special collector's set designed to showcase standout character artwork and mechanics from the game's initial expansion cycles. The set was conceived as a premium offering for established players and collectors, prioritizing high-quality card stock and commemorative aesthetics over standard pack distribution.
The design of this Yamato card draws directly from the established visual identity of the Wano Country arc, emphasizing the character's iconic white hair and hannya mask motifs. As with many cards in the Premium Collection, the illustration is intended to capture Yamato's dynamic energy and formidable presence as an antagonist-turned-ally. The card was well-received upon release for its vibrant foil treatment and the inclusion of meta-relevant card types, which solidified its status as a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of the One Piece trading card ecosystem.
