Hop

Hop was introduced in the Pokémon Champion's Path expansion, which debuted in late 2020 as a special set themed around the Galar region. The card features Hop, the rival character from the Pokémon Sword and Shield video games, and serves as a Supporter card that allows players to draw three cards from their deck. This iteration draws directly from the character design established by game designer Ken Sugimori and his team at Game Freak, aiming to capture the optimistic and competitive nature of the character as he strives to become the Pokémon Champion.

The card's art style reflects the clean, vibrant aesthetic of the eighth generation of Pokémon, emphasizing the expressive character work central to the Galar narrative. As an uncommon card, it was widely distributed within the set's expansion packs and dedicated special collections. It is well-regarded among players for its functional utility in early-game card draw mechanics, serving as a staple support card that bridges the gap between the competitive meta-game and the series' approachable character-driven roots.
